      Kepa Zubeldia, President and CEO of Claredi Corporation is the nation's first commercial provider of HIPAA EDI compliance testing and certification services for payers, clearinghouses, vendors and providers. Dr. Zubeldia founded Claredi in October of 2000 to create a trusted healthcare testing and certification service which would expedite the broad acceptance of EDI standards for the benefit of the entire healthcare industry. Until 2000, Dr. Zubeldia was VP of Technology for ENVOY Corporation, the largest healthcare EDI clearinghouse.

      Dr. Zubeldia has been intimately involved with healthcare EDI for the past 22 years, and has participated in a number of industry bodies. His current responsibilities include Co-Chair of the Security Policy Advisory Group of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), and immediate Past-Chair of the Association for Electronic Healthcare Transactions (AFEHCT). In 1999, Dr. Zubeldia led the Internet Security Interoperability Pilot, sponsored by WEDI and AFEHCT. In 2002 Dr. Zubeldia received the Ed Guilbert E-Commerce Professional Award, and the Leadership in Technology WEDI Award.

      Dr. Zubeldia will speak to members about HIPAA Transaction Compliance and testing transactions for compliance.

      Prior to starting CRN in 1999, Laureen ran a successful rehab (OT, PT, SLP) practice in New Jersey that at it's zenith served over 17 long term care facilities with 26 therapists, aides and support staff. Her company was approved by Medicare and billed over 1.6 Million with less than a .06% rejection rate -- unheard of in the rehab industry. The reason for this success was making sure her company billed based on source documentation and to provide ongoing training to her therapists regarding proper coding.

      Laureen also has a love of computers and most especially internet technology and created an online community where medical billers and coders could network with each other. When she saw a need for quality online medical billing and coding training she took her classroom course offerings and put them on the internet under the CRN Institute name. Laureen teaches AAPC Certified Coding Preparation and Medical Billing telecourses and online courses. She will teach members how to use Modifiers properly for increased revenue and will host a CPC Preparation workshop.

      Sarah Lott, President of Texas Star Medical Billing, Inc., entered the field of DME in 1990, as a one-person office for a new local company and left eight years later as general manager with a staff of twelve and a growing prosperous company, which was sold to a large corporation. Sarah has helped other successful DME startup companies as well. She holds multiple certifications in DME billing, Medicare compliance, DME business organization, HIPAA and OIG compliance and is a member of AMBA as well as the Co-Chairperson of AMBA's DME Committee. Additionally, Sarah is an associate member of MESA, the Medical Equipment Suppliers Association, for the states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma

Robin has previously managed two very successful medical billing companies utilizing her education and experience from her previous career in marketing with United Parcel Service. She managed to sign on a maximum capacity of providers for her billing service in less than 12 months.

      Robin will be speaking on how to determine which trade shows to work with, setting up a cost-effective display and the multitude of things a person can do to ensure they get their money’s worth from participating in the trade show. She'll also show you how to effectively followup with interested parties and how you can develop partnerships with provider organizations. Often the trade show is the first marketing opportunity billing company has with an organization, but it need not be the last. Robin's expertise and enthusiasm will provide the help and motivation you need to sign up new accounts immediately after the conference!

They are processing monthly 2 million dollars in patient charges, 1 million dollars in payments , 9 thousand insurance claims forms and sending out 5 thousand patient statements.

      Mike has twenty-one years of experience in healthcare management and his expertise include medical reimbursement, coding, insurance/patient billing, fees, statistical analysis, revenue cycle management, insurance contracting, physician credentialing, management information system reporting and business consulting. He is a current member of Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the American Medical Billing Association (AMBA) and past member of Healthcare Billing &Management Association (HBMA).

      Mike will be teaching two breakout sessions. The first is, "Revenue Cycle Management: Managing for Superior Performance." This breakout session will focus on the basics of medical billing and turning revenue opportunities into cash. The second breakout session Mike will teach is, "The Road Map to Success: Denial Management &Plugging Revenue Leaks." The participant will learn how to develop a usable map that will improve their efficiency in managing insurance claim denials. Also, the participant will take away with the tools for collecting key billing data to be used in dashboard reporting for identification of improvement opportunities.
